Birthing a child is a truly wonderful and amazing thing....to see that baby and touch that baby while still inside your body is incredible. Being prepared for childbirth encompasses many things. Understanding yourself and your body BEFORE your child is born is a major key to raising a happy and healthy child. However this insight into your own self will can create a miraculous birth experience. Knowing what to expect, what options you have in all stages of labor, having the people around you that make you most at ease will all play a great big part in a magical, relaxing and many times painless birth. What I mean by painless is that you feel every part of your body at the same time....this intern *evens* out the sensation of pain...creating a focus. I believe in a woman's ability to give birth...completely on her own, with no intervention from ANYONE, including midwives or husbands. All women are capable of this, but many have yet to experience the intense joy created by unassisted birth. Educating yourself and family is a must for anyone wanting a FREE birth. In this section it will mostly be devoted to Unassisted Childbirth and Homebirth as I believe these are the safest and most gentle ways to bring a baby into this world. You may be wondering why I don't include hospital birth since it is the most chosen method for birthing. I believe education is the key. People need see that a hospital IS NOT the safest place to have a child...it never has been. Contrary to popular belief, Homebirth and Unassisted Birth have a lower maternal/infant mortality rate than hospital. Giving birth is NOT a medical procedure it is a privilege that a family should experience together.
